Dear Kindergarten Families,
The Candle of Peace is lit for this second week of Advent. We will continue to learn about the meaning of Advent. Look for more Advent Saint ornaments coming home this week!
Events this week:
- Monday begins our annual Food Drive – red containers will be visible near parking lot for drop off. Please donate non-perishable food items any time his week Monday – Friday.
- Tuesday the First Trimester Progress Reports come home. Please sign and return envelope by Friday, December 13. Keep report for your records.
- Look for Red Family Envelope coming home on Tuesday with January conference schedule information.
- Tuesday is also an art lesson with Miss Nancy!
- Bottle cap donation ends this Wednesday – please bring in any caps you have at home!
- Friday is a free dress – please send in $1.00 +
- Friday is also Primary Centers – noon dismissal. I could use a few more volunteers – this is a service hour opportunity.
Academics for this busy week!
- Religion – Advent lessons and activities; prepare for Christmas program with songs and practicing our speaking parts.
- Rhyming sorts continue as well as reading and writing our sight words. And working on a new list of words. We will begin informational writing – with a ‘How to” paper. Reading and retelling stories for comprehension.
- Math finds us learning about symmetry. Recognizing numbers and counting by 1’s, 5’s and 10’s.
- Science mystery lesson is all about water, ice, snow and Snow Flakes.
- We are working on Christmas program – come bring your child on December 18 at 5:30 – show begins at 6:00.
