Dear Fifth Grade Families,

We will be focusing on the beginning of Lent and will be going to Mass on Ash Wednesday.  Thursday is our Valentine Party.  Thank you to our room parents who will be helping with the party on Thursday afternoon.

This will be a short week for the students.  There will be no school for the students on Friday.  Please enjoy a restful long weekend as school resumes on Tuesday.

Every night your child should be reviewing their Social Studies and Science notes.   By Friday every student needs to have completed three Acc math packets.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My email address is fifthgrade@sacredheartschoolventura.org. Please make sure that all students have their needed supplies everyday (paper, pencils, binders and flash drives).

Below is an overview of our week.

Math: We will be reviewing for our test which will be next Tuesday.

Science: We will be discussing elements.

Social Studies:  We will begin Chapter 6.  We will be exploring the daily lives of the British colonists.

English: We will be identifying object pronouns.

Religion: We will be discussing how the Eucharist is the center of Christian Life.  This month we will be also focusing on the parts of the Mass.

Spelling: Unit 18, we will be reviewing Units 13 and 14. We will have our test Thursday.

Vocabulary: Unit 9

Literature:  We will continue reading our novel, Indian in the Cupboard.
