Dear Kindergarten Families,
A new month begins!
Our focal point for the week will be to learn about the deep love Jesus has for us. Scripture: Jesus says “Love one another as I love you.” based on John 13:34. SLE A. 4 Make good choices like Jesus will be a writing response we base on scripture and our SLE’s.
Language arts finds us working on new sorts, snap words, reading each word slowly listening for beginning, vowel, and ending sounds. We will begin to work on spelling as we hear the sounds. Our writing includes labeling illustrations, speech bubbles, writing with snap words and using our sound power to add more words to our pieces.
Math lessons include counting by 2’s and 5’s, reviewing symmetry, an introduction to calculators, and counting with tally marks. Hopefully we will have time do some measurement with standard and nonstandard feet.
This week we will do the Mystery Science from last week, finding animals in the woods. We will also be working with paint and getting our bird houses ready for the school fair.
It’s time to learn about some important and interesting people for Black History month.
