Our field trip to San Buenaventura Mission and the Ventura County Museum will be tomorrow. Students may come in free dress ($1 donation to support the work of the St. Vincent de Paul Society).  I am still collecting cardboard for a Lenten art project; it should be about the weight of the backing of a legal pad.

What we are working on this week

Religion: We will finish our discussion of the second commandment and move on to learning about the third commandment.

Math: We continue with Unit 5, which focuses upon multiplication. This week students need to complete ixL Math skills A 2 and D 13.

Spelling: We will be working on Unit 18; book pages are due by Friday. This is a review unit so there will be no test.

Grammar: We continue Unit 3, which focuses upon verbs.

Vocabulary: This week we conclude our study of Unit 9 words; students will be writing sentences with each of the words. These will be due on Friday and the test will be on Friday.

Reading: Last week we learned a new comprehension strategy: Ask Questions throughout the Reading. You may access the Parent Pipeline here. Parent- ask questions while reading  The reading log will be due on Monday (click here for a copy) reading log nouns verbs and Fluency Homework #17 will be due on Monday as well.

Social Studies: We continue to take notes for our mission reports (your child may also work on notes at home!), and we continue discussing issues 11 and 12 of Studies Weekly, also focusing upon the mission period.
