Dear Parents, September 3, 2013
I hope that you enjoyed the wonderful Labor Day weekend!
In language arts this week, we will finally finish our Kindergarten Review! Woo-hoo! We will also be continuing our spelling work focusing on the beginning, middle, and ending sounds. Remember to practice touch-bump-touch with your child! (See Back-to-School Night handout for a refresher!)
In math, we will begin working on a number grid (hundreds chart) and how to make number sentences to ten. You all did a wonderful job in helping complete IXL.com math homework. From here on I am asking for a homework requirement of IXL.com to be ten minutes spent on the specified skill. If the skill is completed and mastered in less than ten minutes that is fine and no extra work is needed! Once completed work may continue if a challenge is desired!
In social studies we are learning about school workers and fine-tune our skills of reading a map key.
Science has us continuing our study of plants and taking a closer look at our experiment from last week!
In religion, we are learning that God is indeed our Father!
