Dear Parents, May 14, 2018
I hope all enjoyed Mother’s Day!
Here’s what we are doing in first grade…
Language Arts: We will be looking at base words and endings “er” and “est” in phonics this week. We will be looking at comparing items this week as we work on these base words and endings. Our new spelling words do not come from our spelling book this week. We will be spreading out our sentences again!
Math: We are continuing Unit 10. We will be reviewing geometry, reading thermometers and temperature, place value, and number grids.
Science: We will begin a new chapter on how matter can change. We will be looking at what happens when we heat or cool down different types of matter!
Social Studies: We will spend the rest of our time in first grade learning about our country.
Religion: We will begin Chapter 24: The Holy Spirit Helps the Church.
