FLUENCY

Math Worksheet/Sentence Worksheet: DUE NEXT TUESDAY

SIGHT WORDS: Remember to study sight words daily (3-5 minutes a day). We began our sight word check last week and continue into this week.

No MATH IXL OR LANGUAGE IXL

Spelling: Study for spelling test on Friday.

Next week, students will begin writing a few facts about their Saint for Homework. The Reports will be due by October 28th. Students will memorize their information in class but will need practice at home.

Parent Homework: Reminder to turn in signed progress reports.

A SNEAK PEEK AT OUR ACADEMICS

Language Arts

Phonics: We are completing our unit one of phonics tomorrow. We have learned how to study words and sight words. We have reviewed all sounds, blends and digraphs.

Grammar/Writing: We are working on our narrative writing. Students are on all different stages of writing. We will continue writing about small moments.

Reading: We will celebrate the end of unit 1 in reading on Wednesday. The kids have worked hard in learning good reading habits. The next unit brings us to “Word Detectives.” This will be one of their favorite units as it is mine. 🙂

Math: We begin our new math unit this week. We will be learning about odd and even number patterns, number line, time (telling time to the half hour and money (adding a dime to our counting) and frames and arrows. Please look at the family math newsletter in your child’s homework folder.

Religion: We will focus on observing God’s goodness in creation. How can we care for God’s World?

Science: Observation of our plant! Ask them about the plant they brought from the farm. What is happening?

REMINDERS

  • October 17th “Shake Out” Day-Earthquake Preparedness Drill 9:50 a.m.
  • Friday: NOON Dismissal!
  • Halloween Donut Presale this week until Monday, October 21st. Please be sure to send in $2 before Monday to place your order.
  • Library next week will be on Wednesday instead of Tuesday.
  • I will not be at school on Monday and Tuesday since I will be attending a Professional Development.
  • November 8th: Saints’ Presentations and Parade
