Dear Parents, May 27, 2014
We have completed all of our Language Art Themes for first grade! Woo-Hoo! We will review all reading strategies, comprehension skills, grammar, and phonics we have learned thus far, within the last days of the school year!
In math, we will be pressing on with our unit 8. We will be working on place value and making change.
We will continue with our lessons on states of matter but we will focus on the changes the different states of matter go through.
In social studies we will continue with our last unit: My World Near and Far. For this last unit I would like to invite our students to bring in any item that comes from another country and add to our in-class museum. Your student will be able to share the item during our social studies time. I would like to keep the items through the end of next week so we can truly appreciate different cultures.
In religion, we will focus on how we Give Glory to God.
Announcements for the week:
- Please remind your student to bring their library book on Tuesday so that they may check out another one.
- Wednesday is a Jog-a-thon free dress day!
- Wednesday is the Pizza and Slide Show at 5:30pm in Biedermann Hall
- Full day on Friday!
Have a fantastic week!
Ms. Manning
