Fourth grade had a great time visiting the Santa Ynez Museum and Mission. A huge thank you to Mrs. Castaneda for supplying us with a wonderful snack! The students learned a lot about transportation in the 1800’s.
Congratulations to Madison and her family on the birth of baby Brayden, born March 17th. Blessings to the family!
This week we begin a unit on fractions. I am introducing our Family Life lessons (there are 10 lessons) during religion. The transcontinental railroad and its effects on CA will be the focus for social studies. Earth science is our next unit of study for science, beginning with rock science. We will finish our novel, The Cricket in Times Square, this week. Please make sure your child has a copy of our next selection, Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing.
If your child has not yet chosen a poem to memorize for our speech contest, please assist him or her in selecting a poem with a minimum of 25 lines. The poem must be memorized by Monday, April 11th.
I hope we will have many grandparents joining us on Friday. We will go to mass together and enjoy a classroom art project. The children always love this day and it gives them the opportunity to spend time with their grandparents.
Have a good week,
Mrs. Sharon Redmond
