Dear Families,
Here is our week in 4thgrade…
Math: We are continuing to work from Unit 1: Naming and Constructing Geometric Figures. This week we are focusing on constructing circles as we wrap up our unit. We hope to take our test by the end of the week.
ELA:
-Writing: We are continuing our realistic fiction writing.
-Reading: Our Reading Response Journals are due for the first time this week! If you have any questions please see the directions that went home last week or contact me. Remember nightly homework is to read 20-30 minutes!
-Vocabulary: We are in moving on to our first week of Unit 2.
-Spelling: We are working from Unit 2. Again, we are starting off with simple words to get us warmed up for the school year. As was the case last week, we have 25 words written in our daily planners but we will only be tested on 20. We will be taking our test later this week.
Social Studies:We start our first lessons on Tuesday! This week, we will be learning about California’s geography!
Science:We will be working on a science project on water ecosystems on Friday with our Grandparents and special friends!
Religion:We begin our second unit in our religion books: God Speaks to Us in Scripture. Within this unit we discuss God’s message of love that is present both within our Old Testament and New Testament. Be sure to check out Worship Wednesday for our new religion bulletin board!

School Notices:
School Picture Day is September 5th!
Wednesday is library day!
Friday, September 7this Grandparents and Special Friends Day at SHS. Please meet us in the church for mass. Following mass, grandparents will be invited up to the hall for light refreshments before joining us in the classroom for some fun!
Friday is also a noon dismissal.
