This week, January 30th, we begin discussing the fifth commandment, “You shall not kill.”  These discussions are based on the fact that all life is precious.  Today we talked about how much each and every one of us is so very loved by God.  We discussed how important it is to take care of ourselves because we are all precious to God.  We must respect ourselves as God’s creations and do what we can to make sure we remain healthy and happy.

We will continue the discussions tomorrow talking about how God wants us to care for others.  Since each and every life is precious to God, it is important for us to treat everyone with respect.  We will continue the week by talking about ways in which we can show our love of God by caring about everyone, including the very young and the very old.

These discussions will eventually lead into our “Protecting God’s Children” lessons planned for the week of February 16th.
