Most of the students did a great job memorizing and reciting their poems for the speech contest.  It was hard to narrow the choices to six students.  Going to finals are: Erin, Jacob, Lily, Renee, Kaleb, and Leannah.  Please read the Sacred Heart School newsletter for correct dates.

A few students have yet to turn in permission slips and $10 needed to attend the Ojai Storytellers Festival on Friday, May 3rd.  I would like to receive the remaining few because I also need to send home permission slips to attend our field trip to La Purisima Mission on Wednesday, May 8th.  These slips will be sent home this Wednesday.

This week:

Math:  We will continue to work with measurement

English:  Students are reviewing for the pronouns test to be given next Wednesday, May 1st.

Science:  It is necessary to reschedule the chapter 8 vocabulary test.  We are not quite finished with the chapter.  The new date is next Tuesday, April 30th.

Social Studies:  week 24, Immigration to California

Religion:  The Family Life series is continued this week.

Please make sure your child is finished reading his or her book report book by Wednesday, May 1st.  We will write the report in class.

I would like to mention that some students are not well prepared for the Friday spelling tests.  Please check to see that your child studies the words every night so that by Friday he or she will do well on the test.
