I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!  We are well rested and ready to dive into the week as we begin our second trimester.

This week the students will be given the next set of vocabulary words for science (11 words), and social studies (14 words).  Students need to begin studying these words today.  I will give a test on each set before the Christmas break.

We continue to discuss early explorers during social studies lessons.

This week we begin reading The Black Stallion by Walter Farley.  In this unit (2) we will study how animals and their traits are personified in literature and film.

Please make sure your child has his or her book read for the book report we will begin writing this week.  The book MUST be at school on or before Wednesday.  Thank you for your help with this.

The chapter 4 test on division will be given next Tuesday, December 4th.

Religion discussions this week are based on the Parable of the Sower (Mark 4:3-9).

First trimester report cards go home Tuesday, December 4th.  Parent conferences begin Wednesday, December 5th.  Dismissal for students will be at 11:30 on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of next week to allow for conferences.  I look forward to meeting with all of you for conferences.
