We have three days of school this week and then a long Memorial Day weekend beginning on Thursday. Work packets will be coming home tomorrow; please return the red folder, as I will send home a final work packet the week of June 4th.
THE WEEK AHEAD:
HOMEWORK: Students will be doing the following ixL skills this week: Math P 3 and P 4, and Language G 3. We will be doing Fluency #34, and students should be reading for 20-30 minutes per night. The reading log, ixL skills and fluency homework will be due next Tuesday.
DAILY WORK
Religion: We are reviewing the 10 commandments and finishing our commandment booklets. We will take the Unit 4 test on Wednesday.
Math: We continue Unit 7, which focuses on fractions.
Reading Workshop: We continue reading our historical fiction “book club” selections. Students should be jotting about their books in their composition notebooks.
Writing Workshop: We continue work on our informational books.
Spelling: We begin work on Unit 35; the test will be next Friday.
Vocabulary: We begin work on Unit 16; the test will be next Friday.
Grammar: We will touch upon a variety of skills in our final days; this week we focus mainly on writing quotations correctly.
Science: We continue our study of electricity.
Social Studies: We are learning about the Gold Rush (magazines #21-23)
