Dear Third Grade Families,
Welcome back! I hope you all had a wonderful, restful Christmas vacation. It was such a pleasure seeing the smiles on the students’ faces at our class Christmas party. The book exchange was a hit and I’m most certain that the class enjoyed both the cookie decorating and cookie eating. I’d also like to extend my thanks to you for the class Christmas gift. It was very thoughtful.
It’s going to take us a couple days to get our momentum going again, but I’m sure the class is ready to get back into the swing of things. This week we will be working on a small project in which we will be identifying our New Year’s resolutions for 2012. We’ll also be celebrating 3 Kings Day (also known as the Epiphany) on Friday with our first student-led mass of the year. Families are welcome to join us at 8:30 in the church.
In class, we’ll be making a small book with “Strategies to Help Remember My Multiplication Facts” as well as taking a math chapter test on multiplication concepts on Wednesday. (We’ll spend Tuesday reviewing.)
As we begin a new year, please take a moment to look over your child’s uniform to see that his/her name is on all sweaters/sweat shirts and that any holes are mended.
To an amazing 2011 an even better 2012!
Regards,
Mrs. Espinosa
