Dear Kindergarten Families,
I am enjoying your children’s book responses. They are doing a great job and I can see pride in their work.
Two of the many many reasons to read with your child:
- Reading aloud gives children the opportunity to practice listening – which is a crucial skill for kindergarten and beyond. http://www.reachoutandread.org/why-we-work/importance-of-reading-aloud/
- Reading is one of the best together times you can spend with your children promoting knowledge that carries through all disciplines. You might like or already do the “3 B’s” (Bath, Bed and Book) 🙂
Record your reading on the Reading Glue site or the reading log below:
Report on an “old favorite” storybook or facts from a non-fiction article or book.
This week we have been working with addition using Tens Frames. Use these sites for an interactive practice:
ixl.com C.17 count to fill a tens frame
Extra fun –and really good practice go to Starfall and work on a level best fits your child.
