Dear Kindergarten Families,
Tomorrow is our field trip to the Fire Station! We are excited to review people in our community and learn more about safety.
Ayden will celebrate his 6th birthday on January 21, which happens to be the 10oth day of school! Your child may bring in their 100 day bag anytime this week or by Tuesday next week. We will not open until it is time, but fun to see the bags coming in for our celebration next week.
Religion lessons continue with reading from the Children’s Bible learning about Jesus as a young boy and man. Our text finds us reading about ‘Jesus the Good Shepherd’ and a project to go with it.
ELA- focus letter Ff; short vowel /a/ and word families; using descriptive words when writing sentences; reading comprehension skill is categorize and classify; retelling stories using beginning, middle and ending. I am assessing fluency with letters and sounds – please practice letters and their sounds as you read together each night.
EM – section 4 continues with math symbols, math stories, reviewing patterns and 2-dimensional shapes and extending counting from a given number – hopefully we can get to 50 without interruption.
Social Studies -The Fire Station field trip as a review of vocations and community helpers. A focus on Martin Luther King, Jr. and his dream.
Science – healthy food choices

Have a wonderful week!
