Dear Families,

It was a pleasure to meet with everyone at conferences last week. This Friday is a noon dismissal. There is no school on Monday January 20th for observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Below please see an overview of our week:

Math: This week our focus is on mixed numbers. We will find equivalent names for fractions and mixed numbers.

Vocabulary: Unit 7

Grammar: Using and understanding interjections and how commas are used to set off interrupters.

Science: Water should be conserved in order to make fresh water supplies last longer. We will be taking our Chapter 4 test next Wednesday.

Social Studies: I will explain the cause and effect relationship between the fur trade with the Europeans and the weakening of the Huron and Iroquois nations.

IXL: ELA section H.3. There is no math IXL this week.
