Dear Fifth Grade Families,

Happy New Year!  I want to thank everyone for the wonderful cards and gifts.  I feel truly blessed.  I also want to thank my room parents for the Christmas party.  The students had a great time.

Due to this being a short week we will not have a spelling test this week This Friday is our Spelling Bee.  Please feel free to join us!  Friday is also a full day.

Every night your child should be reviewing their Social Studies and Science notes.   Please have Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My email address is fifthgrade@sacredheartschoolventura.org. Please make sure that all students have their needed supplies everyday (paper, pencils, binders and flash drives).

Below is an overview of our week.

Math:  We will be focusing on prime factorization, common factors and greatest common factors

Science: We will begin chapter 5, The Water Cycle

Social Studies: We will begin chapter 5, The Spanish Borderlands.

English: We will focus on adverbs.

Religion:  Our focus is on small acts of kindness.

Literature:  We will continue reading our novel, Indian in the Cupboard.
