Dear Kindergarten Families,

Your children did an excellent job reciting the poem, ‘What Can I Give Him?’ during the school assembly last Thursday. I was very proud of them!

We had a great time on Friday during Primary Centers. Thanks to all who were able to come in to help with our cardinal craft! I hope everyone enjoyed the 3-day weekend observing MLK day!

I believe we are ready to travel to Goleta to see the Monarch’s. Please check your email for additional details. You need to pack: a sack lunch with a snack and a drink. Mrs. Benner will provide water for us. Dress is school polo, long pants, and sturdy shoes. Apply sunscreen before school, although part of our day will be in the shade.

Wednesday is the 100th day of school. I am hoping all students have found 100 items for their bags. Please remember to group items by 5’s, 10’s,  20’s, or 25’s into bags or bundles. Staple the bags so we can guess and count! This is required homework. Due on Wednesday or Thursday this week.

Parent’s Day is on Friday!  If you can join us for Mass at 8:30. Parents will visit our classroom after a reception in Biedermann Hall as students go out for recess.

Our religion focus continues with Jesus our Good Shepherd. We know that we are indeed followers of Jesus. We also have learned about Martin Luther King, Jr message of equality and treatment of others.

ELA and math lessons will follow the 100 day theme with many activities relating to this exciting celebration in school.  Migration and the life cycle of monarchs will be our science focus this week.

2nd trimester PROGRESS REPORTS come home today-please sign and return form by Monday, January 27.

Have a great week!

Mrs. Carol Brown
