Dear Fifth Grade Families,
Thank you all for coming to Parent’s Day on Friday. It was a great success! We had a wonderful time. This week is Catholic Schools Week. Wednesday is Student Appreciation Day. We will have free dress, hot lunch provided by Mrs. Benner, and no homework! This Friday is a noon dismissal.
Every night your child should be reviewing their Social Studies and Science notes. By Friday every student needs to have completed three Acc math packets. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My email address is fifthgrade@sacredheartschoolventura.org. Please make sure that all students have their needed supplies everyday (paper, pencils, binders and flash drives).
Below is an overview of our week.
Math: We will be adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators. We will have our Vocabulary test on Wednesday.
Science: We will be introduced to chapter 8, Atoms and Elements.
Social Studies: Our focus will be on the Southern States. We will have our States test on Friday. We will have our Chapter 5 test next Monday, February 4th.
English: We are distinguishing between specific words used as adverbs and as prepositions.
Religion: We will be celebrating Catholic Schools Week and participating in different activities everyday.
Spelling: Unit 17. We will have our pretest on Thursday and our test on Friday.
Vocabulary: Unit 8 . We will have our test this Friday.
Literature: We will continue reading our novel, Indian in the Cupboard.
