Dear Fifth Grade Families,

This week is a full week of school with a 2:45 dismissal on Friday.  I am very proud of the students recognizing the small acts of kindness that occur in our classroom.

Every night your child should be reviewing their Social Studies and Science notes.   By Friday every student needs to have completed three Acc math packets.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My email address is fifthgrade@sacredheartschoolventura.org. Please make sure that all students have their needed supplies everyday (paper, pencils, binders and flash drives).

Below is an overview of our week.

Math:  We will be focusing on prime factorization, common factors and greatest common factors.  We will be having a vocabulary quiz on Thursday.

Science: Chapter 5, The Water Cycle

Social Studies:  Chapter 5, The Spanish Borderlands.  We will have a states test on Thursday.

English: We continue will focus on adverbs.  We will be comparing adverbs to adjectives

Religion:  We will be discussing the Baptism of Jesus.

Spelling: Unit 14.  We will have out pretest on Thursday and our test on Friday.

Vocabulary:  We will be reviewing for our unit 7 test this Friday.

Literature:  We will continue reading our novel, Indian in the Cupboard.
