Hello Kindergarten Families,
October is a busy month! Please mark your calendar for the Fall Harvest Showcase. This will involve your little saints as we finish big on afternoon of November 4. 🙂
We will be working on the Saints and saint projects. Our Religion text and Promise Weekly takes a look at how to pray and prayers. Prayer in different forms: singing, reading the Bible, speaking out loud and quietly.
Letter/sound focus is to review the sounds that “stop” /p/,/b/,/t/,/d/,/k/,and /g/. Reading together in small groups looking for sight words: I, see, like, my and me as well as using our sounds for help.
Math continues with shapes, number formation and 110 grid.
Animals and plant changes in fall. This unit will continue through November.
Events
Halloween tattoo fundraiser for Halloween on Monday, October 31. We are offering a PRE-SALE for this event. Tattoos cost $1.00 your child can buy as many as you would like.* Money can come in any day including morning of 10/31. All proceeds go to Adopt-A-Family our mission for this trimester.
*At school we only wear 2. The rest will be sent home in an envelope.
October 28 – Primary Centers new time for parents helping – we attend Mass, early recess so centers can start at 10:00- please come at 9:50 – 11:45.

HOMEWORK
Week of October 18 to October 25. As always, read nightly and do a book response. Also a simple Saints report with your child on their saint.
