Dear Kindergarten families,

Hard to believe we are halfway through May and nearing the finish line for Kindergarten. Completed class work is coming home end of week. Please empty and return folder after you enjoy your child’s work. There is more great stuff to send home. 🙂

Friday’s Color Run was a fun day. Thank you for your time with us. Your help and contributions are appreciated!

Please find your child’s red folder and return to school as soon as you can.

May is Mary’s month we are reminded to ask her to intercede when we pray. Your children are learning how to hold and pray the Rosary. Click on Hail Mary, Gentle Woman this is a favorite song and video which reminds us how Mary reflects the light of Jesus. We are close to finishing our Religion textbook and it will come home end of May. Learning to shine our light (we used the candles) to represent Jesus the Light and understanding Joy have been our discussion, reading and activities.

As this trimester continues we will work to learn how adjectives modify nouns and verbs show action. Writing ‘how to’ papers, using ending marks and spacing our words correctly as we journal. Measurement concepts for math, next week we begin how to read an analog and digital clock, time to the hour and elapsed time. Also reviewing the number grid found on back of homework folder.

Our American Symbols, the Social Studies focus for May along with Memorial Day. We will find time to work with magnets as the year concludes for science and building for stem activities.

Last Homework

I am very proud of the homework papers coming in. Please enjoy one more Animal Report research activity with your child. Also, have your child work on the flag maze. I gave instructions in class to go through maze lightly with pencil then choose a blue or red crayon (colored pencil) to show the path. Please, no markers. It is hard to use marker and keep paper looking neat.

Lots of learning website games. Just pick a couple for homework it’s all to learn at your child’s pace.
