Dear Fifth Grade Families,

The class is looking forward to our first field trip to Ronald Reagan Library.  Students will be wearing their uniforms.  Students are to bring a disposable sack lunch and a drink.  We will be returning to school at 2pm.

The entire class did a wonderful job with the Palmisano Writing Contest.  It was very difficult to  pick the five finalists.  The finalists are Sarina, Mitchell, Samantha, Frank, and Joshua.

This Friday is a noon dismissal.

Every night your child should be reviewing their Social Studies and Science notes.   By Friday every student needs to have completed three Acc math packets.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My email address is fifthgrade@sacredheartschoolventura.org. Please make sure that all students have their needed supplies everyday (paper, pencils, binders and flash drives).

Below is an overview of our week.

Math:  We will be dividing fractions using mixed numbers.

Science: We will be analyzing the differences in chemical and physical properties of substances.

Social Studies:  We will be focusing on the causes and effects of the Sugar Act of 1764.

English: We will be identifying when to use we and  us correctly with nouns

Religion We will be having Stations of the Cross on Wednesday at 2pm.  Please join us if your schedule allows.  This week  we will be focusing on which Station of the Cross is most meaning for each of us and why.

Spelling: Unit 22.  We will have our  pre test on Thursday and our test on Friday.

Vocabulary: Unit 10

Literature:  We will begin our new novel, House of Dies Drear.
