Dear Kindergarten Families,

This week we will be finishing up our School Fair project. Be sure to mark your calendar for 6:00 pm Wednesday, March 14. Save a bit of time and enjoy all our school’s grade level exhibits. I know you will be very proud of your kindergartners work on the Mammoth and Ice Age mammals.

In March we celebrate 4 birthdays!

Sophia and Emily share March 4, Athena on the 9th and Nathan on the 31.

We are working to understand how Lent is a time to pray and read scripture, give to others and fast in self discipline. Stations of the Cross on Wednesday this week at 1:50. Come join us if your schedule permits.

Palmisano Contest finds us writing on topic what make our community strong? Phonics continues with segmenting and blending cvc words (consonant-vowel-consonant) and reading sight words in text. Polishing our writing and drawing about the mammoths. Extra reading each day in March as we celebrate Dr. Seuss.

Math continues with recognizing and printing numbers past 30. Math stories, measurement, and calculators for addition.

Social studies and Science go together as we look at counties mammoths migrated from and how they ended up in North America and Mexico.

Please help your child tie their shoes or use the stretchy laces that do not need tying. Most children are tying their shoes now, although several children have laces that are so long it makes tying difficult.

This Friday is a noon dismissal.

Friday the 23rd is a noon dismissal and we will have Primary Centers. Look for my calendar coming out on Monday evening.

Thank you for your children – they are a true blessing!

Mrs. Brown
