Dear Kindergarten Families,
Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend!
Our daily religion lessons are centered on the life of Jesus. Reflections on prayer, fasting, and almsgiving during this Lenten season. Friday we will attend the Stations of the Cross led by 8th grade at 1:45. Please join us if your schedule permits. Monday we will read about the Transfiguration of Jesus with our Promise leaflet and our Children’s Bible.
- Language arts – working with letters / sounds, blending the sound and putting it all together to make words. Correct punctuation, spacing, and capitalization as we write sentences. And continued practice with our snap words.
- Math – learning to mentally subtract numbers 5 and below. Drawing and writing out math stories and sentences, using the number grid, counting by 5s and reviewing measurement.
- Science – a mystery lesson on germs – discusses good hygiene, hand washing and healthy eating habits.
- Social studies – community helpers and vocations.
We will have some fun with Dr. Seuss reading and activities. Tuesday a Seuss BINGO game. Wednesday 8th grade friends will read a Seuss book in class.
Friday is a full day of school with the first Stations of the Cross at 1:45.
Blessings,
Mrs. Brown
