Dear Fifth Grade Families,
Thank you everyone for a wonderful turn out at our Jog a thon. The students had a great time. This Wednesday is the intermediate grades musical performance at 6:30. The students have been working very hard on their performance. I hope everyone can join us for the show.
We will be having our Living Rosary on Tuesday. Please have your child bring their rosary from home on Tuesday. Friday is a SHS holiday for an early start on Memorial Day weekend. There will be no school on May 27th for Memorial Day.
On June 3rd the fifth grade class will be going to Food Share for a fieldtrip. We are collecting cans of food to donate on our fieldtrip.
Every night your child should be reviewing their Social Studies and Science notes. By Friday every student needs to have completed three Acc math packets. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My email address is fifthgrade@sacredheartschoolventura.org. Please make sure that all students have their needed supplies everyday (paper, pencils, binders and flash drives).
Below is an overview of our week.
Math: We will be reviewing number sense standards this week.
Science: Our chapter 6 test will be on Tuesday. We will than begin our chapter on the Solar System
Social Studies: We will be evaluating the Great Compromise and drawing conclusions about the compromise.
English: We will be analyzing when to use teach, learn, let, leave, sit and sat. We will continue to work on our Important Person project, which is due June 3rd.
Religion: We will be focusing on the Rosary this week and preparing for our Living Rosary that will be on May 21, 2013. Our Saint this month is Saint Monica. We also are discussing Pentecost.
Spelling: Unit 33
Vocabulary Unit 14.
Literature: House of Dies Drear.
