On Friday, November 2nd, Sacred Heart School (SHS) had its annual Saints Parade presented by kindergarten, first and second grades. The parade is an annual tradition at Sacred Heart,  as kindergarten through second grade students choose a saint.

This year was just as incredible as all those before it. It started at the end of the weekly Friday Mass when SHS’s principal, Christine Benner, stepped up to the podium announcing that we would now begin. Second grade began by introducing themselves, stating the name of their saint, and telling a bit about them. First grade did the same. Then last but not least, kindergarten came up and stated the name of their saint. All three grades did this while dressed as their saint and stood in front of the church while speaking.  Some saints that were in attendance were St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Augustine of Hippo, St. Francis of Assisi and many more.

After this was done everyone was asked to step out of the church and the mini saints marched out in a procession around the school and were led by a combination of teachers and eighth graders. As they proceeded to walk around the school twice, they were cheered on by every grade standing in front of their respective classrooms. The mini saints ended their parade, and while they were heading back to their classroom, the air was thick with the buzz of conversation and praise for a job well done.
