Our families are accustomed to noon dismissals each month on various Fridays as these early dismissal days are used for staff meetings to plan, review, and prepare.

Three times during the year on a noon dismissal day, our teachers meet with those from other Catholic schools in Ventura, Oxnard, Santa Paula, Camarillo, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, and Westlake.  These meetings offer our teachers time to collaborate with other teachers who are instructing at the same grade level and/or subject areas.

Many of these schools have their noon dismissal days on Mondays or Wednesdays, and to accommodate their schedules, two of our three meetings this year will be on days other than Friday.

The first occurs this month on Wednesday, September 20.  Teachers from the other area schools will come to Sacred Heart to learn about Writers Workshop in grades Kindergarten-Eighth and our writing curriculum for MS in Science and History.

As all school days, Extended Day Care will be available for students who remain on campus after the noon dismissal.
