This Friday, November 5 at 8:30 is a big day for your little saints.
Have your child come to school in their saint costume, and join us for Mass.
Do not forget your camera, on this is very special day!
As we begin this week in preparation of the Saint’s Parade, make sure your child is at ease with their costume. Check for comfort while walking, sitting, and kneeling.
(Please wear uniform underneath costume and regular school shoes.)
This week begins the pre-sale order for donuts another effort to support our first trimester mission “Adopt a Family”. Cost for the donuts are $1.00. Donut sales continue all week, making next Friday donut day for our students.
**Friday is a noon dismissal.
Academics:
Religion: Your students will continue to work on Mary’s prayer, Golden Rule, and taking care of God’s World.
Language Arts: We are writing sentences daily in our journal, practicing letter formation and sentence structure. Identifying the alpha friends, letter recognition, and all alphabet sounds will continue this week. Reading booklet this week continues with ‘at’ family. We will make up silly stories with sight words and word families.
Math: Chapter 3 includes identifying numbers 0-5. We will work on number formation, sets of numbers, one to one correspondence, more and less than, and numbers that are equal.
Science: Our garden area is growing very nicely. We are finishing our study of plant needs, but will continue to care and measure our vegetables and sunflower plants.
Last week I send home our grade level National Geographic magazine, “Young Explorers”. You will want to keep this magazine to read and enjoy. This great magazine will continue through the school year.
Social Studies: We will continue with our unit on community. Family traditions past and present along with our own traditions will be discussed this week.
