Wednesday is a free dress please bring $1 minimum to help support our mission efforts that help the less fortunate families have a better Christmas. Adopt-A-Family is supported by Catholic schools in the LA Archdiocese area.
Additionally all students bring a plush animal for these families – Teddy Bear Day is December 6. When shopping maybe you can pickup an animal for this mission. Bring in anytime before December 6.
Academics for this week:
Religion – working out of our textbook and reading from Children’s Bible. Chapter 7 Families Are Good – teaches us we belong to families who love one another. We’ll work on the next chapter I am Good -the message is to acknowledge God made us wonderful, and we should love others following Jesus’ example.
ELA- Reading workshop shows us how to love ‘old favorites’ as we listen and read classic stories with our partners. Writing workshop has us writing simple books page by page. The strategy we are learning is to label and try to use sight words to make our stories more interesting. Words their Way continues with rhymes – when reading at home look for words that rhyme to reinforce this skill.
EM- number writing practice and patterning returns. We go back and review symmetry as well as counting with the number grid and using the grid as a tool to make pictures.
Skipping science this week to work on our mapping unit for Social studies. We are learning directions with the compass rose.
Friday is a full day of school –
Enjoy your week!
