Dear Kindergarten Families,
Back to school Monday with prayers for clean, clear air and fires under control. Thanking all firefighters for their hard work!
The Saint’s Parade is this Friday!! We start in Church at 8:30 Mass. Kindergarten, First, and Second grade will be sitting up front in reserved pews on each side of Church. Bring your children to class, making sure costume is on and fitting well, maybe sneak a picture, and best option is to find a good center aisle seat in church! Parade around school follows Mass, more time to snap a couple pictures!
This Friday is a noon dismissal. We will observe Veterans Day next Monday, November 11.
- Our religion time will be spent on our saints. We will be adding the Lord’s Prayer to our daily prayers.
- Phonics- Our mascot Mabel, is dressed as a detective teaching us to look for sight words (I, a, see, me, my) and letters and their sounds. For a couple weeks, our sorts will be rhyming pairs.
- Reading in partners and reviewing the old favorite storybooks, we are now looking for sight words as we read.
- Writing simple sentences using sight words and illustrating stories from our “Old Favorites” collection.
- Math – starting the Tricky Teens this week: double digit numbers 10-19, a bit of sorting and a review on measuring.
- Science has us looking at our bones and muscles. Garden work: measuring the sugar snap peas we started during our farm field trip.
- Booklet for Veterans Day- remembering and honoring all who served honorably in the military.
Blessings,
Mrs. Brown
