Dear Fifth Grade Families,

I hope everyone had a nice weekend and were able to stay cool!  November 7 is a Free Dress for a $1.00 donation.  I encourage students to participate as the donations go to Adopt a Family. This Friday is also a noon dismissal for a staff meeting.

Please have your child wear their P.E. uniform on Thursday.    Every night your child should be reviewing their Social Studies and Science notes. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My email address is fifthgrade@sacredheartschoolventura.org.

Below is an overview of our week.

Math:  Chapter 3. We are focusing on multiplying by multiples of ten.  We will also work with exponents this week.

Science: Chapter 3.  Our focus is the Digestive System.

Vocabulary: Unit 5.

Spelling: Unit 7.  We will have a pretest on Thursday.  We will have our test this Friday.

Social Studies: We will analyze the exploration of Balboa, Vespucci, and Magellan.

English: Our focus this week is using homographs and homophones  correctly.

Religion: This week we will  continue  our focus on the Rosary and the Mysteries of the Rosary.

Literature:  We will continue reading our novel, Indian in the Cupboard.
