Dear Families,

We will be going on our first field trip tomorrow.  We are going to the Skirball Center.  We are leaving the school at 7:50 am.  Please make sure your child is at school on time.  Students are to wear full uniforms.  We will be eating lunch when we return. Please pack your child  lunch and water to be eaten when we return.

Tuesday and Thursday is our  bottle water sale for $1 before school.  Progress Reports go home on Tuesday.  Please sign and return by Friday October 10th.  Friday is also a full day of school.

Below is an overview of our week.

Math: We will continue working with number sentences.  We will also be estimating products.  The following IXL sections will be due next Monday.  Section F.2, Multiply by 1 digit numbers word problems and F.3, Multiplication patterns over increasing place value.

Science:  This week we  begin chapter 2. We will focus on plants using energy from the Sun to make food.

Social Studies:  This week we begin chapter 3.  We are learning about Europeans and exploration.

Vocabulary: Unit 3

Grammar: We will be having our unit 1 test on Wednesday.

ELA:  We begin  unit 2 this week.  The theme for this unit is Renaissance Thinking.  I have all the books for this unit.

Religion: Confirmation is the Sacrament of the Holy Spirit.
