Dear Fifth Grade Families,

Our Pumpkin Sale went very well on Friday.  I hope everyone is enjoying his or her pumpkins! This Friday is our collaborative learning and also a noon dismissal.

Please have your child wear their P.E. uniform on Thursday.    Every night your child should be reviewing their Social Studies and Science notes. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My email address is fifthgrade@sacredheartschoolventura.org.

Below is an overview of our week.

Math: Chapter 2.   Our focus will be on writing and evaluating addition and subtraction expressions containing variable.

Science: Chapter 2, Plant Systems.  We will have our Chapter 2 test next Tuesday.

Vocabulary: Unit 3.

Spelling: Unit 2.  We will have a pretest on Thursday.  We will have our test this Friday.

Social Studies: Chapter 2.   Our focus is on the Great Plains and the Woodland Native Americans.

English: Our objective this week is to be able to identify action verbs, helping verbs and linking verbs.

Religion:  Our focus will be on Saint Teresa of Avila.

Literature:  We will be reading our novel, Indian in the Cupboard.
