Annually, in celebration of the birth of Dr. Seuss, Read Across America Day is celebrated on March 1 in schools across the country and Sacred Heart School has several events planned. Following our return from Mass, the student body and staff will enjoy 15 minutes of silent reading prior to recess. Our full day school schedule will end with volunteer readers traveling throughout the classes to read aloud to students. If you would like to be one of these readers, please contact librarian@sacredheartschoolventura.org. Finally, throughout the month of March, students will list the names of books they read on tickets we will use to raffle various prizes for the primary, intermediate, and middle school levels at month’s end. The more books read, the greater the opportunity to win!

Education at Sacred Heart School is centered in Christ and is concerned with the development of the whole child. We are committed to helping students grow in trust and devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus as well as to helping them grow in the spirit of prayer, service and leadership in the Christian community. Sacred Heart School cooperates with and assists the parents or legal guardians, who are the primary educators of their children. Along with teaching Catholic dogma, doctrine, and morals, Sacred Heart School maintains a strong, innovative curriculum. It is our goal to promote a school atmosphere that is enlivened by Gospel values, intellectual proficiency, and self-esteem.
