The 6th grade is studying the Old Testament in religion and the Ancient Israelites in history. We just finished reading about the Exodus of the Jewish people from slavery in Egypt. In history we are examining early biblical history, including the Exodus and the Passover celebration. The class viewed a Seder plate with Hebrew writing and enjoyed eating matzos and delicious haroset, a mixture of apples and raisins. The class then discussed the Last Supper when Jesus gave us the First Communion. The students were surprised how similar matzos was to the Eucharist.
