Hello Second Grade Families,
Thanksgiving is almost upon us, and with that comes the closing of our first trimester together. This week will largely be devoted to reviewing, finishing and tying up loose ends.
MATH: This week we will review trimester one’s math content with a focus on counting money and making change. For IXL this week, please complete the following skills:
R.6 Interpret Bar Graphs II
A.15 Count forward and backward…
L.15 Input/Output tables: add or subtract by 10 or 100
READING: We will continue our study of non-fiction texts by “learning the lingo” of a specific topic. After that, we will take some time to notice text features and understand key words.
For homework, there will be fluency but no reading log. Instead, cozy up and read for your own enjoyment.
WRITING: The class will learn more about how to dive into a moment by unfreezing a moment and telling a story in small steps.
WORD WORK: Plan for test on Friday! All students should have taken home extra copies of their sort.
SCIENCE: We began two season labs this week. The first was on why leaves change color and the other was all about turkeys!
RELIGION: The class will begin Chapter 9, focusing on friendships with Jesus.
Have a great week!
Ms. Espinosa
