We look forward to celebrating with our Second Grade friends as Jesus gives them His peace and forgiveness in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
ACADEMICS
Reading: As we become better readers, we are learning how books should be read and how to use meaning to read more fluently.
Phonics: We are focusing on the endings of words by doubling consonants before endings, making plural words with -s and -es endings, and changing words ending in y to i before adding -es or -ed.
Spelling: Please check your student’s planner for their sort. Spelling tests will be on Monday. Some students may spend two weeks on a sort.
Math: As we wrap up the unit, our last lesson will be finding lines of symmetry in various objects. We will be taking the Unit 5 Assessment on Thursday.
Writing: Nonfiction Writing – We continue adding final touches to our nonfiction writing. Some students have begun writing another nonfiction book.
Religion: We are learning how to celebrate God’s love and how to celebrate the Mass.
Social Studies: We are sharing our grandparent/older relative interviews to see the similarities and differences in their lives and ours.
