Dear Kindergarten Families,
Exciting week ahead!
Tuesday our first monthly art lesson begins with Nancy Spooner. I am sure we will be sketching out a fall masterpiece!
Wednesday is the first non-uniform dress day. All proceeds go to the Los Angeles Archdiocese Adopt-A-Family program. Please donate one dollar or more to help less fortunate families. Please refer to our school handbook section D for dress code on non-uniform (‘free’) dress days.
Quiet is Good! Chapter 5 in our religion book, we will learn how when quiet we can encounter God’s presence within us. Beautiful and good things can happen in quiet. Our focus on scripture is based on Psalm 46:11 “Be still and know that I am God.”
English Language Arts covers letter recognition, sounds, rhymes, letter formation, Reading and Writing workshops. Words Their Way this week consists of sorting pictures of living and non living things. We use this sorting skill to help recognize beginning/ending sounds and to rhyme.
Everyday Math continues with counting everyday by 1s, 5s, and 10s. Counting down by 1s and 10s. Comparing coins and their value, number formation, dot-to-dot number recognition and we will touch on measurement – body height comparisons.
Looking at animals continues in science. Movement and review of body parts, animal coverings and how animals help our earth. Fun lab Tuesday, observing earthworms.
Social studies has us using mapping skills, we start with our home and room.
Thursday is our library day, please return books in order to check out a new one.
Friday is a noon dismissal.
That should take us through the week!
God bless your families,
