Dear Kindergarten Parents and Families,
Our first Primary Centers was great! I want to thank all who were able to come and help. Your children enjoyed making fall crafts and traveling to the primary classrooms. Their clever creations are decorating our class-but will come home in a week or two. Our next Primary Center is October 12. Look for the October service hour calendar coming home this week.
A look at this week:
We will continue with reading from our Children’s Bible and our religion text. The stories of Jonah and then Noah. Comparing these stories will help your children think about God’s love and His promise. Scripture based on Psalm 33:5, “The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.”
Language Arts centers focus on identifying the sounds of letters Pp, Qq, Rr, and Ss. We will work on the correct way to form these letters. Reading strategies include noting details, and a little work on naming words and action words during our morning reading, listening, and responding time. Our focus for letter and sounds are: very word needs a vowel. This will help us get ready for consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) words.
Math has us wrapping us Chapter 1.We are getting ready for patterns in rhythm, color, size, and shape in chapter 2. Reviews in sorting and position are ongoing to meet our standards.
Science will continue with plants as we watch our vegetable seedlings grow. We will investigate and record plant growth during the fall season. Social Studies includes learning about people from long ago with a comparison of people in the world today.
Friday is a 2:45 dismissal- school families in the afternoon.
Enjoy your week!
