Dear Families,

I hope everyone enjoyed the four day weekend.  This Friday is Grandparents Day.  We look forward to a wonderful day.   This week the students will be bringing home the permission slip for our first field trip. We are going to the Skirball Center on September 22nd.   Below is an overview of our week:

Social Studies:  We will be taking our states test on Wednesday.  We will be analyzing the cause of conflict among the Iroquois and the role of the Great Council.  We will be taking our chapter 2 test on September 16th.

Science:  We will be reviewing for our chapter 1 test on September 14th.

Math:  I will introduce the concept of square roots. I will also introduce factor strings and prime factorization. Our IXL sections this week are A3, Compare numbers up to billions and A6, Rounding.

Grammar:  We will focus on homophones and words that are often confused.

Vocabulary:  Unit 2

ELA:  Unit 1, Play on Words.  The students are really enjoying the books we are reading.

Religion:  We will continue with Chapter 2, Jesus calls us to Worship.
