Today, the sixth grade class experienced a slow motion Mass conducted by Father Bill. The students were invited into the sacristy to learn about the vestments worn by the priest as well as the names for the different dishes used in Mass. Once Mass started the students stood up at the altar for many parts of the Mass. This allowed the students to view the Introductory Rights and Consecration up close. Father Bill explained many different root words and practices used during Mass over our long Church history. Even their teacher learned a few new facts about our wonderful Mass celebration! Tomorrow the sixth grade will write a thank you letter to Father Bill and tell him their favorite part of Mass.
