We enjoyed our “free” Free Dress day last Monday; this Wednesday we will have another Free Dress day, but this time we need to bring $1, which will go towards our mission project for the first trimester, which is Adopt-a-Family. Students can also purchase a bottle of water for $1 every Tuesday and Thursday morning, and this is also a fundraiser for our mission project.
For homework this week, we will be completing Reading Logs, and students should complete ixL Math skills A6, J6 and J7. Both of these assignments are due next Monday.
This week in Vocabulary we begin our study of unit 5 words. Test will be next week.
The Unit 6 Spelling test is tomorrow, Tuesday. You should have received an email from me last week with the words for this unit. It is a review unit. Spelling Words Review unit 6 grade 4
In Grammar we continue our study of nouns, which is unit two.
In Math we continue chapter two. We will be working on data collection and analysis, as well as addition, using two methods: partial-sum and column addition.
As reinforcement of estimation, students will bring home a “rounding” worksheet on Tuesday afternoon. It will be due on Thursday.
In Religion we are discussing offerings that we can give to God to show that we love and adore Him.
In Social Studies we are finishing work on Chapter One. We will have a test on this chapter next Tuesday. As preparation, we are completing review activities, both in our textbook and in the activity book.
In Science we are reading about interactions of living things.
Reading groups continue in their chapter books: reading, discussing, and writing summaries. Every day we are doing Daily Five, “Read to Self”, and our stamina is building! Today we were able to read for 15 minutes without any interruptions. Well done, fourth graders!
Have a great week!
