Our week ahead:
Work on the school and church parking lots has finished for now and therefore will NOT affect the car line this week. All K-4 classes still begin at 8:15, with dismissal at 2:45. Don’t forget: if your 4th grader has an older sibling, they will be waiting with them in front of the office.
Tuesday: Progress Reports go out, No PE
Wednesday: Mass
Friday: Intermediate Centers and 11:45 dismissal.
ACADEMICS
- Religion: We will continue to study the beatitudes and ready ourselves for the Unit 5 test coming up.
- Spelling: New sort this week! Spelling test on Thursday.
- Reading: RRJ #28 Non-Fiction or Fiction. So much good reading is happening in Book Clubs! 4th grade friends are learning so much about history through our Historical Fiction book clubs. Mrs. Wilburn is reading “Number the Stars” aloud and we’re all very excited and learning a lot about the time of the Holocaust.
- Math: We continue our work on fractions, decimals and percentages. We are learning how to calculate discounts and sale prices!
- Writer’s Workshop: We have taken notes for chapter one, The Mission Period, and are writing our rough drafts. Then we will be taking notes for chapter 2, our focus topic. Last Friday we presented our information to small groups of third graders, as a rehearsal for writing our rough drafts.
