The faculty spent one faculty-meeting afternoon reviewing the written responses to the various chapters of Improving Student Learning, the guide for the ongoing six-year self-study process used to maintain accreditation, and selecting goals for each section of the chapters. These chapters focus on how well we display our Catholic Identity, and use the California State & Common Core State Standards, the Archdiocesan Religion Standards, and our SLEs to educate and challenge our students. At the end of each six-year cycle, this school year on February 4, 5, and 6, a team spends three days on campus to assure a quality educational experience is in place. At our October 18 meeting, the faculty will identify three major goals and begin creating an Action Plan to accomplish those goals during the coming six-year cycle. We continue to edit, add, and review the written responses that will be considered complete early in November.

Education at Sacred Heart School is centered in Christ and is concerned with the development of the whole child. We are committed to helping students grow in trust and devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus as well as to helping them grow in the spirit of prayer, service and leadership in the Christian community. Sacred Heart School cooperates with and assists the parents or legal guardians, who are the primary educators of their children. Along with teaching Catholic dogma, doctrine, and morals, Sacred Heart School maintains a strong, innovative curriculum. It is our goal to promote a school atmosphere that is enlivened by Gospel values, intellectual proficiency, and self-esteem.
