This Wednesday we attend Mass, as it is Ash Wednesday. Please join us for Mass if you can. We will celebrate Valentine’s Day on Friday morning with an exchange of valentines. Students should bring one for each student in the class. It is a half day, and a FREE free dress.
If you haven’t sent in your burned matches, please do so as soon as possible.
What we are working on this week
Religion: Our Unit Three test, covering chapters 10-13 will be tomorrow (Tuesday). Students are bringing home their Religion pages for Unit 3 in their homework folders. A study sheet has been provided. Click here for a copy. RELIGION UNIT THREE
Math: We continue with Unit 5, focusing upon two different methods for doing double digit multiplication. This week students need to complete ixL Math skills D 5, D 6 and D 15.
Spelling: We are studying Unit 20 words; the book pages need to be completed by Friday, and we will have a test on Friday.
Grammar: We continue Unit 3, which focuses upon types of verbs.
Vocabulary: We continue our study of Unit 10 words; the test will be on Thursday.
Reading: The reading log will be due on Tuesday (click here for a copy) reading log fiction nonfiction and Fluency Homework #20 will be due on Tuesday as well. Writer’s Workshop: This week we begin writing rough drafts of our mission reports. Most students have finished putting their notes into outlines, so we are ready to learn about and begin writing our reports.
Social Studies: We have started Studies Weekly issue 13, which discusses changes in Alta California after Mexico gained its independence from Spain.
Science: We continue our study of Chapter 5, learning about the properties of minerals.
