On Sunday Father Al announced that Father Carlos will be leaving our parish, and this will happen while we are on Easter break. We will have a free dress this Wednesday, and as a token of our regard for him, the proceeds will be given to Father Carlos. We encourage your generosity. Progress reports will come home tomorrow. Please sign and return the envelope by Thursday. By this Thursday, students need to select a published poem to memorize for the annual Speech Contest, which takes place in April. The poem should be 15-20 lines long. You are most welcome to join us in church on Wednesday afternoon around 1:45 for the Living Stations of the Cross, presented by our eighth graders. Thursday is a noon dismissal. As we journey through Holy Week, I pray that all our families will have a joyous Easter and a restful break from school.
THE WEEK AHEAD:
HOMEWORK: Students continue working on the following ixL skills: Math E 5 and E 6 and Language F 11 and 12; (due Wednesday, March 28th). There will be no fluency this week, but students should be reading for 20-30 minutes per night, keeping track of each book that they finish so that they can earn tickets for the Read Across America drawing on April 13th. Their reading log will be due on April 9th. Students should complete the Math Boxes on pages 146 and 147 by this Thursday.
