We are very busy this week, wrapping things up with several tests. Friday is a half-day; fourth graders will “move up” to fifth grade at the end of the morning to get a taste of life on the “other side” of the school!
I will send home a final packet of work next Tuesday, June 7th.
What we are working on this week:
Religion: We are learning about the Eight Beatitudes and how to apply them in our daily lives.
Math: We are reviewing our work on fractions so far. We will finish the journal pages through page 207, including all Math Boxes pages. We will do an end of the year assessment, starting this week and finishing next Monday. Students should complete ixL Math skills Q 7 and Q 16 by next Monday.
Spelling: We are learning the words in Unit 34; the book pages are due on Friday and we will have a test on that day.
Grammar/Writing Workshop: We are applying all that we have learned about correct grammar as we write our final drafts of our opinion essays. The goal is to have these done by June 3rd.
There will be a final grammar test on adjectives (Unit 4 through page 135) on Thursday.
Vocabulary: We continue our study of Unit 16; the test will be on Friday. Students are writing sentences with the words; these will be due on Friday as well.
Reading: The reading log will be due next Monday (click here for a copy) Reading log summary and Fluency Homework #35 will be due on Monday as well.
Social Studies: We will have a test on issues 18-20 on Thursday. Students have made a review sheet to study from. Click here for a copy. studies weekly review 18-20. Check out spellingcity.com; the list of vocabulary for the test is on the site.
Science: We continue learning about electrical charges and circuits. Our final lab will be on Thursday.
